Peoria BASEBALL & SOFTBALL CLINIC

August Catching Clinic

Every Pitch. Every Block. Ready for the Next Level.

Your catcher had a great season. But moving up a division changes the job overnight β€” runners start stealing on every pitch, passed balls turn into live plays, throws get longer, and pitching gets faster. This co-ed clinic for ages 6-13 gives your athlete dedicated, position-specific coaching every Thursday this August, so the jump to the next level does not catch them off guard. Kids are grouped by age and ability, so every athlete is working at the level that actually challenges them.

Register for all four Thursdays for the full experience, or join for a single night if that’s what fits your schedule.

Dust off the gear: Get game-ready before Fall Ball starts

Catching is not a position you pick up by accident. It takes real coaching β€” footwork, framing, blocking, the throw down to second, and the mental load of running the game pitch after pitch. Most practices do not have time to isolate that. This clinic does.

August Catching Essentials is built specifically for the athlete behind the plate, baseball or softball. Every session is dedicated entirely to the catcher’s job, with coaches who know how to develop that position instead of squeezing it into a few reps between other drills.

Here is what nobody tells you about moving up a division: the job changes fast. A catcher who was rock solid last season can suddenly find themselves a step behind. Runners are live on every pitch now, a passed ball is not a formality anymore, the throw to second is longer, and the pitching in front of them is faster than anything they have blocked before. None of that means your catcher is behind. It means the position just got harder, and it deserves training that keeps up with it.

If you have trained with us before, you already know what this room asks of a catcher. This is the next step. If this is your first time here, you are walking into a room full of kids who take the position seriously. Either way, you belong here.

Who Is This For?

πŸ‘‰ Youth catchers ages 6-13, baseball and softball, moving into a bigger version of the game this season
πŸ‘‰ Athletes grouped by age and ability so every rep is the right challenge at the right level
πŸ‘‰ The catcher who already has a foundation and needs it to hold up at the next level
πŸ‘‰ The athlete who is just getting started and wants to build it right from the beginning

What Your Catcher Will Work On

βœ… Shutting down the running game β€” footwork and pop times that hold up when every runner is a threat
βœ… Blocking technique for balls in the dirt, so a passed ball stops being the scary part
βœ… Throwing mechanics built for longer distances, not just the ones they grew up with
βœ… Receiving and framing against faster pitching
βœ… Game management and communication behind the plate
βœ… The mental side of catching β€” staying locked in, pitch after pitch

Why August?

It is still hot outside, and that is not changing soon. This room does not fight the heat. It is indoor, climate-controlled, and focused entirely on the catcher’s position. And with the next level coming up fast, this is the stretch of time to get the position caught up to where the game is about to be.

A NOTE TO PARENTS πŸ™Œ

Catchers are wired differently. They want to be pushed. Our coaches meet them there with honest feedback, real corrections, and the kind of encouragement that actually lands because it is earned. Your child will leave each session with something they can feel in their body and something they can trust the first time a runner takes off.

We group kids by age and skill level. This means younger athletes are inspired by watching more advanced athletes play but are not overwhelmed by competing with them.Β

Safety is our priority. This is emphazised by our coaches at every camp and clinic.

We want every athlete to love the sport and leave each day with more confidence than they arrived with. A safe environment is paramount to achieving this goal.
